This problem also occured at interactive.net, a provider I help manage and
which used to have a close association with Winternet (well, Mike Horwath,
really..)

I lack Dan Maus' patience. I nuked the queue. If you don't get your mail,
well, that's not my fault.

If anyone from the ISP formerly known as Winternet is reading this, I
formally request that you remove all references to my network
(interactive.net) from your systems, including mail (which we never had
anything to do with originally.. I appreciate adding those MX records
without consulting me), news, DNS, or anything else Mike may have relied
on us for. Under Mike's management, I could depend on Winternet for fast,
reliable backup and peer services; now, this is obviously not the case.

[postmaster and root will also be receiving this message.]

If your staff is incapable of performing these procedures, I'll be more
than happy to provide instructions.

Dave

Too late. Dan Maus announced that he'd dumped the mail, because, as I
understand it, he couldn't keep storing it while the folks running Winternet
try to get their system under control.

Sigh.

OK,

Time for a JohnUNDERSCORESeemannDASHAdmin's education again.

If I understand Dave's message below correctly, winternet just lost
it's secondary DNS. This is somewhat serious isn't it?

Please, somebody explain to me the consequences of this on services.

Thanks,
