Please note that the content below was last updated on 14 October 1996; the content of this page is being preserved as-is for posterity. The only changes made since that time were (a) to update the page markup to current standards, (b) to update internal links as hosting platforms changed or to point to archive.org when available, and (c) to obscure email addresses located throughout these pages (except for USENET postings). Needless to say, many of the links to external sites are no longer functional after 20+ years.

Does this ridiculous situation remind you ofa miniature version of the RJR Nabisco takeover, where the winners walked away with 100's of millions, and the losers got a set of steak knives? On a serious note, what, if any, rights do users have into the details of this takeover - especially the supposed dastardly deed perpitrated by Mike that caused the lockout? On one hand, we shouldn't care who runs the console, as long as operations are available. On the other hand, we care about the people who we work closely with, even if they are a 'supplier'. -- Don ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Path: visi.com!winternet.com!not-for-mail From: dpeer01@winternet.com (Don Peer) Newsgroups: winternet.general Subject: Winternet Takeover Date: 7 Jul 1996 22:08:10 GMT Organization: StarNet Communications, Inc Lines: 8 Distribution: local Message-ID: <4rpcga$p0i@blackice.winternet.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: tundra.winternet.com X-Newsreader: TIN [UNIX 1.3 950824BETA PL0] Glad to see you re-read my post. Of course we have rights. We each have the right to continue to do business with Winternet, or to take our business elsewhere. And each we have the right to set conditions for either.
