Already, I'm completely not impressed with the "new" Winternet staffers.

Heather Scrutton decides to put me on ignore in IRC, just because I ask
her if she works for Winternet now. I did not do it in a profane or
insulting manner, either.
<-[ciannait]-> So, you work for Winternet now?
<-[ciannait]-> hello, do you work for winternet or not
-Ciannait- Ciannait is ignoring you

Is this how the "new" Winternet staff is going to treat its paying customers?

I already have service concerns because of the extremely high number of
service outtages today. Currently, for example, irc sessions on the user
machines terminate at random intervals with a "Segmentation Fault/core
dump" message.

For hours, earlier this evening, I was unable to access my commercial web
site directories and web server statistics. This directly impacts my
ability to run my web consulting business.

But who do I talk to? Nobody has had the guts to step forward from the
controlling party and explain what happened and let us know who to contact
in case of service outtages or problems. I don't even know who else works
at Winternet now. Who does? Would it be too much fucking trouble for
someone to post that information please?

You will have a hard time convincing me that "firing" Mike Horwath wasn't
the worst thing you've ever done. You're killing Winternet, and wrecking
its ability to function.

Mike Horwath _IS_ Winternet. His hard work and dedication are what made
this company what it is, and his hard work is what kept it at the level
that it's been at. It's already obvious that it's going downhill.

I hope Mike sues the living shit out of you.

Sincerely,

Al Iverson

Dear Winternet "tech support"

When a customer calls up and tells you that he has been disconnected off
this system 10 times today and that the name servers have been having lots
of problems today please do not tell me that the system administrator does
not see any problems?

Why should I endure in the last 3 days being disconnected from the Net 30+
times? Why should I endure slow responses from the machines? I thought the
new staff were suppose to be competent. If I am calling in to say there is
a problem guess what "THERE IS A PROBLEM"!!!

It took 10 rings to answer the phone and on top of it the person forgot
that she was talking to me. Is this customer service? Is this the business
savy that you want to add to the company?

Why are there so many more problems now than when Winternet moved from
Eden Prairie to Downtown? That was something where modems, and machines
had to be physically moved and put back together. All that happened here
is a staff change... Please respond to this. People are trying to get on
with there lives...

Thank You,

Todd Mogilner
Internet Consultant

I agree - Mike is winternet!!! What is going on? I just got back in town
from a 4-day vacation - imagine my surprise (and outrage) when I logged
on and discovered these messages! And, I've only read three of the 165
waiting for me. Good Grief! BRING MIKE BACK!

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person;
having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all
out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful
hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with
the breath of kindness, blow the rest away . --George Eliot

If anyone notices any NEW problems with their service, please send a
short EMail to drechsau@radparker.com detailing this...he needs
documentation on everything that is going on. Yes, that is Mikes'
address.

Please note that although the good side has neither solicited nor accepted
any such offers, I stand ready to donate small four-figure amounts to any
legal fund necessary to get rid of this idiotic junta. Furthermore, I will
go on record as saying that the 'new staff' I have unofficially heard of
is technically incompetant and should be removed immediately.

Well, Saturday AM, I could not get in at all. The authentication
would fail after I gave my usercode and password to the Portmaster.
An attempt to get in from my employers domain (i.e. not throught a
Winternet dialup) received no response or login prompt.

When I was finally able to get in by late afternoon Saturday, any
attempt to do anything failed. It appeared that the DNS was not
responding. Pings to mail, news and machines failed.

Finally, I see the following message in winternet.announce this
morning. What the hell is this idiot up to?!

>I GOT THE WACK ASS SHIT THAT BREAKS WINTERNET'S NECK!
>WOO HAH! I GOT MIKE HORWATH IN CHECK! YAW YAW YAW!
