Where did my pages go? |

First off, the reason that my pages are no longer on Winternet’s web server is clearly stated in the Winternet – Under Siege! archives. Read them, especially if you are thinking of doing business with Winternet. Even if you aren’t, read them for a good story on “How not to treat your employees and customers.” (Or, “How to run your business into the ground.”)
The short story is: Mike Horwath, one of three shareholders in the corporation, and an incredible admin, was removed from day-to-day operations of Winternet. The rest of the staff (and one unlucky customer who was in the office at the time) was fired. All at once. The other two shareholders apparently thought that they knew best, and replaced all the staff. There’s been nothing but technical and customer-service nightmares ever since, except for customers leaving in droves. Interested? Read more about it.
- If you’re looking for the Winternet FAQ, which dealt with many things from Unix tips to connecting to the internet using Macs, Windows 3.1 & 95, OS/2 and much more – Try out the Citilink FAQ. All the same information is there, and Citilink is a much better ISP than Winternet is.
- If you were looking for my personal pages, the Wabbit changed burrows. My stuff is now located on Vector Internet, which is also a much better ISP than Winternet is. Winternet used to be really good, but then you’ve probably already read the story.

If you send mail to kae@winternet.com, I may or may not receive it – the mail server has been very flaky lately. But I digress – I’m sure you’ve already read about it.
- If you’re looking for anything else, sorry. I don’t know where I put it. But here’s something entertaining for you to read in the meanwhile.
